The Dearman Engine Company has just commenced a 2-year long Ricardo-led technology development programme.

The outputs will be (i) main sub-system optimisation and testing, (ii) a test engine to demonstrate performance and (iii) the technology roadmap to a commercial product.

The programme is taking place in 5 phases with gating at the end of each phase to confirm that the technology remains likely to deliver commercially acceptable performance at a viable cost.

Alongside Ricardo, the company enjoys the active support of an advisory team of research experts from Loughborough, Brighton, Leeds and Queen Mary Universities and STFC, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
